This was a project I had attempted before but did not go as planned. Given the chance for redemption, I created The Lovers.

The Lovers represent the feeling of existing with another, support in your individual endeavors, and the eternal comfort of returning to loving companionship. The two beings intertwine and reach toward the sky, living in harmony and through difference. They work together as a whole and as two separate beings complementing each other in their own abstract unique existence. Inspired by queer love and the impregnable vindication that pure acceptance and love brings to oneself and their life. The process of creating this sculpture shined a light on the joy, and heartbreak of life and creation and how through hardships, new, bright, life can form enveloped by love.

Their Love has been exhibited in Impressions of Conscience, Sage's solo show, at Covington Clay in December of 2022, and in Kennedy Heights Art Center's Ebb and Flow in February 2023.
